Pennies for Patients

pennies    During the month of March, our school will begin an exciting fundraising campaign that’s all about helping others. Pennies for Patients is a three-week program in which students collect change for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. LLS is dedicated to finding cures for blood cancers. As our students participate in this program, they’ll learn how powerful helping others can be. Learn more about the Pennies for Patients program at http://www.studentseries.org/participate/elementary-schools.

You can start now to support your child’s participation in Pennies for Patients:

  • Start talking to your child about the value of giving back.
  • Help your child set up his or her online giving page. Be ready to share it with your friends and family once Pennies for Patients is underway.
  • Help your child set a personal fundraising goal and talk about ways to reach it. Make a list of people your child can contact.

Together, we can help!
Every 3 minutes someone in the US is diagnosed with a blood cancer, and every 9 minutes someone loses that battle. Pennies for Patients donations help families of patients pay for medicines, doctors, or other expenses and also help fund research focused on finding a cure.

If you have questions about Pennies for Patients, contact your child’s teacher or our school program coordinator (Ms. Baipho). Or visit LLS.org. Together we are making a difference.
