Updated School Opening Information During the Coronavirus Closing
From Dr. Lloyd as of 3/24/20:
The Governor of South Carolina has mandated that all schools in South Carolina will now remain closed through April 30th. We will not return to a normal schedule (as it stands) until May 1, 2020. Our work/waive schedule will be as follows during this duration;
➢ March 23 - 27 Waive Week (no new instruction)
➢ March 30 -April 3 eLearning Instructional Week
➢ April 6 - 10 Spring Break
➢ April 13 - 17 Waive Week (no new instruction)
➢ April 20 - 24 eLearning Instructional Week
➢ April 27 - 30 Waive Week (no new instruction)
➢ May 1, 2020 Normal Schedule Resumes
The Governor's order does state that if things improve, an executive order could be issued to bring us back to school earlier.
On Friday, April 3, 2020, the district will deliver ALL meals for Spring Break and will utilize our current delivery locations. This is the only Friday food will be delivered. Ten breakfasts and ten lunches for each child will be delivered on this date. This delivery allows our food service and transportation employees time for some much needed rest for themselves during Spring Break. The state considers meal delivery an essential health issue and will continue to provide these meals while we are in a state of closure.
From my family to yours, I encourage each of you to continue implementing social distancing and practicing every precaution to keep your family members safe. Take care!
