Tigers Take Time to Care

Today students and staff at Stover Middle School were joined by students and staff from Doby's Mill Elementary School and Blaney Elementary School to celebrate their hard work collecting toys, canned goods, and money for families in Elgin and surrounding areas during this holiday season.  Principals Chantelle Baker (Stover), Nicole Kirkley (Blaney), and Assistant Principal Melinda Johson (Doby's) welcomed everyone, the Stover Middle Band played, Doby's Mill Choraliers sang two songs, Stover's Books for Blaney book club shared "Twas the Night Before Christmas" book, and the Stover ukulele and chorus club sang Jingle Bells.  Kindergarteners from Blaney and students from Doby's gave Santa toys to place under the tree.

Stover Middle raised $1000 in cash through their "coin wars" and 852 cans of food for the cause.
After the program, student council representatives and basketball players helped Mayor Emmons, Chief Anders and Ansley Champe, Town Clerk, load the collections for delivery.
