Parents'/Guardians' Rights Notification: 2018-19 School Year
Parents/Guardians in the Kershaw County School District have the right to learn about the following qualifications of their child's teacher: state licensure requirements for the grade level and content areas taught, the current licensing status of your child's teacher, and baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree. You may also request the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves your student in a Title I program or if your school operates a schoolwide Title I program. Parents/Guardians may request this information from the principal by calling 843-334-6278 or by sending a letter of request to Principal Estelle Benson at email@example.com.
Bethune Elementary School gives out all teachers’ information sheets at our school registration, and we did this year, as well. If you did not receive the information sheet about your child’s teacher, please feel free to email me or have your child ask the teacher for it. (We also send letters and/or phone calls to parents of affected students at other times of the year if a classroom teacher leaves and another teacher takes over the class.)
