Sisk becomes North Central High head football coach and student activities director

During the February 21, 2023 school board meeting, the Kershaw County School Board approved the hire of Daniel Sisk as North Central High head football coach and student activities director. Sisk brings 17 years of experience in coaching, mentoring and developing athletes to North Central High.

"Coach Sisk brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to North Central. His energy, attention to detail, and dedication to all sports teams were evident during the selection process. His vision for athletics matches the academic vision for North Central High School. We are extremely excited to have Coach Sisk join our Knight Family," says North Central High Principal David Branham Jr.

Sisk currently serves as the co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach and assistant strength coach at Dorman High School in Spartanburg School District Six. During his first season coaching at Dorman, his team achieved a 9-3 record with a new coaching staff, doubling wins from the previous two seasons and averaging 36.5 points per game.

Before joining Dorman, he was part of the Camden High School football coaching staff for sixteen years, serving as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach and strength coordinator. While at Camden, Sisk also served as head girl’s track coach and head wrestling coach, helping mentor and develop multiple state champion athletes in each sport.

In 2021, Sisk served as the assistant head football coach at Camden High, leading the team to region and lower state wins, and finishing the season as the 3A state runner up. He implemented a new offense in 2015, averaging 44 points per game, 458 yards per game, and setting seven offensive school records in 2016. From 2019-2021, the Bulldogs were back-to-back Region 6 Champions, being undefeated in the region with a 15-0 record. In 2020 and 2021, Camden finished the season as the class 3A state runner up.

“I am very appreciative of the opportunity given to me by North Central High School and the Kershaw County School District to lead the North Central football and athletic program. I’m excited to get started and my family and I can’t wait to be part of the North Central community,” says Sisk.

He is a member of the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association. In 2016, he was selected as the offensive coordinator for the North-South All Star Game. Sisk was named Region Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2020 and 2021, and served as the head coach in the North-South Wrestling Match in 2022.

Sisk holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from The Citadel (2006) and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Grand Canyon University. He holds teaching certifications in K-12 physical education and secondary administration.

Sisk and his wife Michelle, have a 7 year-old son, Danny Ray.
