KCSD website deemed "best of the best" in national blog

November 23, 2021

Blog PostThe Kershaw County School District's (KCSD) website was one of seven featured in a national blog by Blackboard highlighting "show-stopping district websites."

"We’ve come a long way from what websites were even a few years ago," said Blackboard Senior Product Marketing Manager Hope Warner. "A place to just put information has transformed into the home base for districts to let their brand take center stage. Prospective families and staff moving to the area will Google your district and your first impression is your website."

KCSD's website was Warner's Southeast pick in her article "From Site to Shining Site: A View of Some of the Best K-12 Websites from Where I Sit." She described her list as providing insight into her "running list of show-stopping district websites" that are "the best of the best."

"In addition to being a single location for district and school-related news, our website has been a key component of our communication efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic including an up-to-date dashboard with the latest numbers of positive cases and close contacts," said Community Relations Executive Director Mary Anne Byrd. "We're fortunate to have Web and Media Services Director Julie Putnam leading these efforts; she is both talented and responsive to ensure that the information is correct and current."
