KCSD 2021-22 registration to open next week; online payment feature added
July 1, 2021
The Kershaw County School District (KCSD) will open its online registration portal for the 2021-22 school year next week. New for this year's process is the ability for families to make payments online.
Families of returning KCSD students—including families who completed their kindergarten students’ initial enrollment this spring—will receive registration codes and instructions via email to complete the online registration process. Families of returning students who do not receive student registration codes by July 8 should contact their students' schools for assistance.
Families of students who are new to KCSD and who have not already made contact with their students' schools should do so as soon as possible but should note that schools are closed on Fridays. More information for new students is available at www.kcsdschools.net/new.
Schools will be open for three days—July 12, 13 and 14—from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. for families who do not have internet access or who need assistance.
KCSD will use the information provided to develop student schedules and determine teacher assignments that will be sent to families electronically before the first day of school on August 5.
This year, all KCSD students are eligible to receive free meals, but families are encouraged to apply for meal benefits as it provides other advantages to families and the school district. To complete an online application, families can visit www.kcsdschools.net/meals. Payment on meal accounts may be made at www.myschoolbucks.com.
In keeping with KCSD School Board policy, all students will pay a $5 technology fee. This and other fees can be paid online. To get started, KCSD families can go to www.myschoolbucks.com and create an account or log in to an existing one. Payments can be made by visiting the "School Store." Myschoolbucks.com charges a processing fee for online payments.
Wearing face masks will be optional for students, staff and visitors in KCSD buildings for the new school year but will still be required on school buses as per CDC guidance. The school district strongly encourages unvaccinated patrons to wear face masks.
KCSD will continue to sanitize facilities and buses. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the buildings. FEEVR devices will continue to be used to scan persons' body temperatures upon entry to facilities.
