In response to the Governor’s Executive Order from May 11, 2021, the face mask opt-out form that schools must use to get parental or legal guardian consent for a student is available on the Kershaw County School District website: www.kcsdschools.net/maskform.
In order to be valid, the form must be completed without change by the parent or guardian (or student age 18 or older) and returned to the child’s school.
DHEC's recommendations regarding COVID-19 precautions, including wearing face masks, have not changed. Therefore, in the absence of a signed opt-out form on file, the protocols for the wearing of face masks inside Kershaw County School District facilities remain unchanged. DHEC also recommends all students, staff, and others in schools continue to wear masks through the end of the current school year.
