Wright new Lugoff-Elgin High School Principal

Corey Wright, LEHS Principal White Knoll High School Assistant Principal Corey Wright has been named as the new principal for Lugoff-Elgin High School.  

“Mr. Wright has a charismatic personality and experience with the challenges of a large high school,” said Kershaw County School District Superintendent Shane Robbins. “I know he will do a great job.”

In the past four years at White Knoll, Wright has been in charge of technology integration, operations and student discipline and wellness. Prior to that, he taught business education at Dutch Fork High School (DFHS) and served as the apex site coordinator where he directed the school’s online credit recovery program. 


Wright coached the DFHS boys track team that won the AAAA state championship in 2016, and he was named 2016 SCCCTCA, SCACA and NFHS-SC Coach of the Year.

With 27 years in education, Wright has also taught at Lake Marion High School, Lower Richland High School, AC Flora High School and Westside High School.  

He received a bachelor of science degree in business education from SC State University and a master of education degree from the University of South Carolina.
