Lawson new Lugoff-Elgin High assistant principal

Kenneth Lawson, LEHS Assistant Principal  Lugoff-Elgin High School (LEHS) welcomes new assistant principal Kenny Lawson this week. Lawson—who has been teaching math at Camden High since 2010—is replacing Alisha Gaither who left to take a job at the S.C. Department of Education.

“Mr. Lawson brings classroom and private industry experience to this position,” said Kershaw County School District Superintendent Shane Robbins. “His background and skill set will make him a valuable member of the LEHS team.”

Lawson worked for six years with WestPoint Stevens and Springs Industries before serving as a cash department supervisor and manager for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. He also worked with Loomis Armored US as an area CMS manager before returning to S.C. to teach math and coach football at Sumter High School.

A graduate of Camden High School, Lawson also has a bachelor of arts degree in secondary education mathematics from Clemson University, a master of business administration degree from the Keller Graduate School of Management and a master of education degree from the University of South Carolina.
