Jingle Bell Run grants awarded to local elementary schools

Jingle Bell Run grants awarded to local elementary schools Fitness Zone Owner George Gibson presented three Kershaw County School District (KCSD) elementary schools with grants to fund physical fitness projects using the proceeds from December’s Jingle Bell Run.

Baron DeKalb Elementary received $500 for its Girls on the Run program. Doby’s Mil Elementary (DME) received $500 to install a water bottle filling station for students in the 4th and 5th grade running club and a water fountain with signage to promote proper hydration. DME received an additional $100 for hardcover children’s books that promote physical fitness. Wateree Elementary was awarded $500 for its upcoming golf club so that students can visit a professional golf course and receive lessons.
