  • School Improvement Council Parent Nominations

    We need your help! Stover Middle is looking for nominations for a School Improvement Council Chairperson. The duties of a SIC Chairperson include: leading SIC meetings; preparing meeting agendas in consultation with the principal and ensuring that they are distributed and posted at least 24 hours in advance of meetings; appointing SIC committee chairs and members; monitoring SIC compliance with state law requirements. Submit names using the Goole Form link posted here. SIC is a great way to stay involved in the school and stay up to date with changes and information.

  • Delayed Start Wednesdays

    Dear Stover Parents and Guardians, This letter is to inform you of the specific procedures and expectations for Stover Middle’s delayed start Wednesdays. First, to reiterate what the district office has already communicated, all transportation options will run at normal times, including buses and the car rider line. If your student is typically a bus rider and you prefer to bring them later, that is allowed. In regards to times, the doors will still open shortly after 7:00 am for the car rider line, and will remain open until 8:25 am. Students dropped off after 8:25 am will enter through the front doors, and get a tardy pass from the front office per usual procedures. The tardy bell to start class will be at 8:30 am. Please make sure all students are in the building and have time to go to their lockers, get their belongings, and report to the appropriate class on time. The students’ schedules, in regards to the order of classes, will remain the same, with only a slight reduction of time in morning classes. If students arrive prior to 8:20 am, they will be directed to their normal grade level areas, with 7th and 8th grades in the gym, and 6th grade in the cafeteria. The academic procedures for those here at the normal time or who arrive before dismissal will involve a variety of activities. Starting at 7:45 am, students will begin working on pre-assigned work for one of their content area classes OR they will be allowed to work on missing assignments if they have the appropriate materials for the assignment. Students will not be allowed to go to their lockers for supervision reasons, so they need to have all materials with them. Students will work until 8:20 am, then we will start the process of releasing them to go to their lockers and get ready for the rest of the day.
