Kershaw County School District Superintendent Harrison Goodwin announces Rose Timmerberg Montgomery as the permanent principal of Camden High School. She has served as the interim principal since December.

"Rose Montgomery's return to Camden High isn't just a homecoming, it's a historic opportunity. As the first alumna in over 50 years to step into the principal's role, she embodies the spirit of the Bulldogs – legacy and strength. Her journey from student to teacher, to administrator, has gifted her with a unique understanding of the school's needs and aspirations. We are thrilled to have Rose at the helm, guiding Camden High’s future,” says Goodwin.

With more than 20 years of education experience, Montgomery previously served as  assistant director of Woolard Technology Center and assistant principal at North Central High School. She is a 1995 Camden High School graduate, and returned to teach French at Camden from 2001-2009, where she served as a department head for five years. She served as a part of the administration team as an administrative assistant from 2006-2009. In 2007, she was named the school’s teacher of the year.

“Camden High holds a special place in my heart, and I'm honored to be back. This school has educated me and my family, and shaped who I am as a professional. I'm excited to be able to give back to the next generation of Bulldogs,” says Montgomery.

Montgomery holds a bachelor’s degree in French from the University of South Carolina and master’s degree in Secondary Administration from the University of South Carolina. She is certified as a teacher, secondary principal, and secondary supervisor.

She completed the KCSD Developing Administrators Program and the South Carolina Department of Education Developing Aspiring Principals Program. Montgomery is a member of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators and South Carolina Association for Career and Technical Education.

Montgomery is married to Tripp Montgomery and has two children, both Camden High graduates, Meg and Dru. Meg is a sophomore at Clemson University and Dru graduated from Clemson in December.
