KCSD announces administrative hires
At the March 19 Board of Trustees Meeting, the Kershaw County School District Board of Trustees approved two administrative hires. Dr. Tracy Johnson has been selected as the district’s new Coordinator of Special Services and Walter Jones has been named the Coordinator of Educator Services.

She began her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and later served as an elementary principal and assistant principal. She joined the South Carolina Department of Education as a transformation coach in 2016, and currently serves as a district attendance interventionist.
“I am both excited and honored to serve as the Coordinator of Special Services in KCSD. I look forward to working with and alongside all of the phenomenal educators and families committed to meeting the needs of our special education students in Kershaw County,” says Dr. Johnson.
In addition to working in these capacities in area school districts, Dr. Johnson also serves as an adjunct Professor at her alma mater, South Carolina State University, where she earned bachelor's and master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and a doctor of education degree in Educational Leadership.

He currently serves as the Principal of Chester Park Center of Literacy through Technology in Chester County School District, where he has served for the past 10 years.
Before stepping into his role as principal, Jones served as an assistant principal and fifth-grade teacher.
"As I embark on this new journey with Kershaw County School District, I am eager to join the dedicated educators, staff, students and families to cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation, where every learner thrives and every dream takes flight,” says Jones.
