All of our summer reading information can be found on our website at www.kcsdschools.net/read.
This summer, our district and the Kershaw County Library have joined together with our community to offer fun reading and summer activities for our students!
- Elementary and Middle School Summer Reading
Every elementary and middle school student will receive a "Kershaw Community Passport" for logging summer reading minutes and completing other fun activities around our Kershaw County community this summer! These passports are a community-wide project and are provided by the Kershaw County Library. You can preview the Kershaw Community Quest Summer Passport for more information.
Students can complete the passport for prizes from the Kershaw County library through July 31.
When students start school for the new year, they can bring their completed log to be part of their school's summer reading celebration.
- High School Summer Reading
High school students also have a great opportunity to be rewarded for their reading this summer. Students who read at least 3 books can log their reading through an online form. Entries logged by high school students in KCSD schools will be entered into a drawing for district and school level prizes including one $100 cash reward and additional gift cards. Our drawing will take place after the Monday after Labor Day.
- Honors Summer Reading
Students in honors classes may have summer reading assignments, which can be found on our website.
We hope you have a great summer, including enjoying great books. Remember - you can share a book or spend time together reading your own books - reading is more fun with loved ones and friends!
