Kershaw County School District announces new substitute staffing partnership with ESS

Effective July 1, 2026, ESS officially assumed management of the district's substitute program. This collaboration brings over two decades of specialized K-12 staffing experience to the community, offering local schools a robust network of qualified personnel, including substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff.

"ESS has a proven track record of placing qualified professionals in classrooms across the country," said Denise Sowell, Chief Human Resources Officer for Kershaw County School District. "We are confident that this partnership will provide high-quality support to our schools, ensure seamless continuity in our classrooms, and serve our community well."

ESS representatives are actively recruiting new hires and reaching out to current KCSD substitutes in preparation for the upcoming school year.

The district is also encouraging community members, retired teachers, recent college graduates, and anyone interested in making a positive impact in Kershaw County to apply.
