KCSD News: 2026 end-of-year schedule and calendar information
The Kershaw County School District (KCSD) will have half-days for students on May 21 and May 22, the last two days of the school year.
Students in half day preschool special needs programs will not attend school on those days. Elementary schools and CLC will dismiss at 11:30 a.m., middle schools at 11:45 a.m. and high schools at noon. Woolard Technology Center students will be dismissed at 11 a.m.
Kershaw County School District graduation ceremonies will be held at the following times:
- 🎓 Lugoff-Elgin High - Thursday, May 21, 7:30 p.m.
- 🎓 Camden High - Friday, May 22, 9 a.m.
- 🎓 North Central High - Friday, May 22, 7:30 p.m.
All ceremonies will be held in the school football stadiums. Schools will communicate with graduates and families regarding ticketing information.
In case of rain, each high school will communicate make-up dates with families with the hope of still holding the ceremonies outdoors in the stadiums.
All three ceremonies will be professionally recorded and will be made available at no charge at www.youtube.com/kcsdschools shortly after the programs.
Emails for online registration for the 2026-2027 school year will be sent to parents on July 6. All schools will have in-person registration help days on July 15 and July 22. This year all new students, students with a new address, and students going into grades 6 and 9 will be required to upload three documents for proof of residency. Examples of these documents include a photo I.D., a recent tax document for vehicles or primary residence, recent payroll check, bank document, mortgage, real estate purchase contract, rental/lease agreement or power or water bill.
We are excited to announce that we are partnering with the Community Medical Clinic to offer a School-Based Health Center on each high school campus next school year, allowing students to be seen by a medical provider during the school day for common illnesses such as flu, strep throat, and other minor illnesses. During registration you will be able to complete the enrollment process so that your child/children can take advantage of this valuable new resource.
The first day of the 2026-2027 school year for students is Thursday, July 30, 2026. Four- and five-year-old kindergartners will begin school on a staggered start schedule, with half of the students beginning on July 30 and half on July 31. More information will be shared with 4K and 5K kindergarten families closer to the start of the school year.
