Board Recognitions for Honors and Achievements

The Kershaw County School District Board of Trustees recognizes the importance of the achievements of its current students, staff, schools/departments and district. The board also recognizes community businesses, organizations, and individuals who make important contributions to our district or our schools. 

Each month, the board recognizes recent district and school-based honors and achievements. 

If you think someone you know should be recognized at a board meeting, the following information should help you decide if their honor or achievement qualifies for recognition. Please note, however, that this list is not all inclusive.

Student Honors

  • First and second- place state level awards
  • First, second or third-place national level awards
  • Winners of international competitions
  • National Merit Commended Students, Semifinalists and Finalists
  • National Achievement Commended Students, Semifinalists and Finalists
  • Military Academy appointments
  • All-State Band honorees
  • District-level contest winners

Staff Honors

  • County/regional, state or national awards
  • Grant recipients ($1000 and above)
  • Successful participation in special invitation-only training or development programs
  • Employees chosen for state-level leadership positions in professional organizations
  • Employees who earn professional certifications such as National Board Certification, school nurse certification, behavior analyst certification, etc.

School/Department Honors

  • County/regional, state or national awards
  • Grant recipients ($1000 and above)  

Community Appreciation Awards

  • Recognizing volunteer service that goes above and beyond
  • Donors who make large monetary or in-kind contributions

How Do I Nominate Someone?

If you feel that we should consider recognizing students, staff, a team or group, or a community group at your school or in your department, please use the form linked below to send that information to the Communications Office. You must fill out the form completely.
