Requirements for Graduation

24 Unit Requirements for High School Graduation

To qualify for a South Carolina High School Diploma, a student must earn a total of 24 units of credit in state-approved courses distributed as follows:

  1. Course selection will depend on satisfying prerequisites.
  2. College admissions require two or more units of the same world language and three units of lab science.  World Language and lab science requirements may vary based upon college choice.  Please consult your school counselor, college admissions counselor, and visit the Commission on Higher Education at www.che.sc.gov for the most current information.
  3.  The following courses fulfill the computer science requirement: AP Computer Science Principles, Fundamentals of Computing, Computer Repair & Service, Fundamentals of Web Page Design and Development, and PLTW - Honors Principles of Engineering.
  4. An Additional requirement of Personal Finance or Entrepreneurship has been added.
