Commencement Exercises

Participation in commencement activities is a privilege that must be earned and may be denied at the discretion of the administration of each high school.  To participate in commencement activities, a student must meet the requirements for a diploma or be eligible for a certificate or be eligible for graduation by the end of summer school of that year.

Diploma requirement: A diploma will be presented to any student who meets the State Board of Education's requirements for graduation.  

Credential requirement: A South Carolina High School Credential will be presented to any special education student who completes the requirements for the credential as specified in his/her Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).

Certificate eligibility: A certificate may be presented to any 12th grader who has not met the requirements for a diploma.
