 White Knoll High School Assistant Principal Corey Wright has been named as the new principal for Lugoff-Elgin High School.  
“Mr. Wright has a charismatic personality and experience with the challenges of a large high school,” said Kershaw County School District Superintendent Shane Robbins. “I know he will do a great job.”

In the past four years at White Knoll, Wright has been in charge of technology integration, operations and student discipline and wellness. Prior to that, he taught business education at Dutch Fork High School (DFHS) and served as the apex site coordinator where he directed the school’s online credit recovery program. 

Wright coached the DFHS boys track team that won the AAAA state championship in 2016, and he was named 2016 SCCCTCA, SCACA and NFHS-SC Coach of the Year.

With 27 years in education, Wright has also taught at Lake Marion High School, Lower Richland High School, AC Flora High School and Westside High School.  

He received a bachelor of science degree in business education from SC State University and a master of education degree from the University of South Carolina.

I am currently an Assistant Principal for the 10th grade at LEHS. Previously I was a science teacher. I have taught at Irmo, Berkeley and Lugoff-Elgin high school. 

I am married and have three boys. I have 2 dogs. I enjoying watching my boys participate in their sporting events.

I graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School and strive for excellence. Go Demons!

Graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High in 1991. Graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in 1995. I have been a teacher at Lugoff-Elgin Middle and High School as well as Cedar Ridge Middle (Alabama), and Dent Middle. During my 24 years of being an educator, I have obtained a National Board Certificate and a Master's in School Leadership. I'm married to Chrissy Faulkenberry Carraway and have two children named Alex and Rylee. This is my sixth year as an administrator at L-E and I'm currently serving as the 12th Grade Administrator. Go L-E!!!

This is my third year as an assistant principal at Lugoff-Elgin High School.  After graduating from Camden High School in 1998, I attended Presbyterian College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics in 2002.  I taught math 16 years and coached at Laurens District 55 High School, Chapin High School, and Mid-Carolina High School.  During my time at Chapin I earned a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands.  I have been married 13 years and have two girls.  One is 9 and the other is 6.  
 
I am excited about being at LEHS this year and being a part of the great things that are going on at the school.  I look forward to working with the students, faculty, and parents to make this year the best ever.

Mr. Kenneth B. Lawson

I am a 1991 graduate of Camden High School.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts dgeree in Secondary Education Mathematics from Clemson University in 1995.  I worked six years with WestPoint Stevens, Inc. and Springs Indsutries, Inc. prior to six years with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond as a Cash Department supervisor and manager. During my first two years at the FED, I earned my MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.   After my departure from the Federal Reserve Bank, I worked and traveled extensively with Loomis as an Area Cash Manager in Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.  In 2009, my wife and I returned to Camden with two children.  I taught mathematics and coached football at Sumter High School prior to receiving a call to return to Camden High School in 2010.  We welcomed our third child shortly after the beginning of the 2010 - 2011 school year. I completed my Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina in August 2012. After teaching mathematics at Camden High School from 2010 - 2018, I joined the Lugoff - Elgin family in January 2019.

Miss Leigh Abee

This will be my fourth year in Administration at Lugoff-Elgin High School. I began my career in education in 2006 and have been part of the Lugoff-Elgin High faculty since 2007. As part of my administrative duties, I will be working with students with last names beginning A-Dir as well as serving as the school test coordinator for state assessments. I graduated with a B.A. in English from Columbia College and a M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University. I look forward to serving the students, families, staff, and community of Lugoff-Elgin High School and Kershaw County.
