Kimberly Simon

I am a proud product of the Kershaw County School District! I attended Baron DeKalb Elementary School and graduated from North Central High School. I graduated from Clemson University with a B.A. in Elementary Education in 1995 and from Francis Marion University with a Master of Instructional Accommodation in 2005. I was Baron DeKalb's Teacher of the Year in 2001 and Reading Teacher of the Year in 2005. In 2016, I completed my Read 2 Succeed Endorsement. In 2017, I successfully renewed my National Board Certification (NBC) as an Early Childhood Generalist. In 2019, I completed my Masters plus 30 in the area of Literacy. Currently, I am pursuing my Literacy Teacher Add-On Certification.

This is my 25th year of teaching and my 24th year here at Baron DeKalb Elementary. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and fifth grade. In addition, I served as the Curriculum Support Coach for several years. Currently, I am the Technology and STEAM Lab Instructor, TIS, School Testing and Textbook Coordinator, and interventionist. I live in Lugoff with my husband, Stacy. Our amazing daughter, Caitlyn, is a sophomore at Clemson University.
