Kimberly Simon

I am a proud product of the Kershaw County School District! I attended Baron DeKalb Elementary School and graduated from North Central High School. I graduated from Clemson University with a B.A. in Elementary Education in 1995 and from Francis Marion University with a Master of Instructional Accommodation in 2005. I was Baron DeKalb's Teacher of the Year in 2001 and Reading Teacher of the Year in 2005. In 2016, I completed my Read 2 Succeed Endorsement. In 2017, I successfully renewed my National Board Certification (NBCT) as an Early Childhood Generalist. In 2019, I earned my Masters plus 30 in the area of Literacy.

This is my 28th year of teaching with 27 of those years in Kershaw County! I have taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and fifth grade. In addition, I served as a KCSD Curriculum Support Coach and Technology Integration Specialist. Currently, I am the STEAM Lab Instructor and Math interventionist at North Central Elementary. I live in Lugoff with my husband, Stacy. Our amazing daughter, Caitlyn, is pursuing a career as a pediatric cardiac sonographer.
