Ms. Monica Lloyd
Being a speech-language pathologist/therapist with the school district is challenging and rewarding as I get to help students learn new skills for communication and language that helps them in their classes. I love that I get to work in my hometown school district.
I am a proud graduate of Wofford College for my undergraduate degree in English and the University of South Carolina-Columbia for my graduate degree in Speech Pathology.
Currently, I work with students ranging from preschool students to elementary grade level students. My focus is on improving speech and language skills that directly impact communication and learning in the education setting. My goal is to help students master the skills needed to be successful socially and academically in the school environment through intensive yet fun sessions!
I have the pleasure of working with students at Blaney Elementary School and Baron DeKalb Elementary School. I also work with the KCSD Special Service's Assistive Technology Team.
My goal is to help students achieve the communication and language goals needed for them to be successful in school while building students' confidence and love for learning!
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, reading, watching my favorite movies and TV shows, cooking (love trying new recipes!), and cheering on my favorite sports teams. My goal for the year is to train for another 5K marathon or to finally learn how to rollerblade.
