Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Jessica Newman. I am a native of Kershaw County and a graduate of Camden High School, class of 1999. I earned my B.A. Degree in Elementary Education from USC Upstate in 2007. From August 2007-June 2011, I taught fourth grade in Sumter School District at Crosswell Drive Elementary Arts Integrated Magnet School. I moved my career to Richland School District 2 in 2011 and taught fourth grade at L.W. Conder Elementary Arts Integrated Magnet School for three years. After starting our family, I finally made it back home to Kershaw County School District, where I teach third grade at Lugoff Elementary School, Home of the Counts!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy doing arts and crafts, spending time with my family, and going on adventures with my youth group. I also enjoy listening to music, singing and dancing (I'm sure your children will tell you I am NOT the next American Idol), and looking for new ways to do things.
I have a passion for teaching, loving children, and shaping their minds to learn how to think, not what to think. I am very excited about the coming year and look forward to reaching for the stars of success!
