Degrees and Certifications:
I graduated from Coastal Carolina University, and I taught 3rd grade at Lakewood Elementary in Surfside for quite a number of years. I married into this district in 2002 where I continued to teach 3rd grade at Blaney Elementary. In 2004, I was named the Kershaw County District Teacher of the Year. In 2005 I was approached about teaching in the Gifted and Talented Program of Kershaw County. My home school is now Lugoff Elementary, but I also teach one day a week at Bethune Elementary.
I am an avid tennis player, but have recently had to shift over to pickleball because of a knee and ankle injury... not because of my age. I play the bass trombone, and have played in many groups all over South Carolina. I am currently playing with a trombone choir out of Irmo called "Bones of Intention."
My wife teaches Spanish at Lugoff High School... my daughter is in Mrs. Johnson's fifth grade class here at Lugoff Elementary... and my son is in Mrs. Britton's second grade class.
