Mrs. Melinda Johnson

I am so excited to have been chosen to serve as the Assistant Principal at Doby’s Mill Elementary School. I am a proud native of Camden, South Carolina and a graduate of South Carolina State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I  then attended Southern Wesleyan University, where I received my Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision. Entering my 16th year in education, I have taught third grade, fifth grade, Title I Math Intervention and I have also been a Title I Curriculum Facilitator. My experience has taken my family up and down the east coast from Charleston County and Dorchester School District Two in South Carolina, and Prince William County Schools in Woodbridge, VA. My last two years were spent as a Primary Talent Development Coach for Montgomery County Public Schools in Silver Spring, MD. My husband, my two children, Kaelyn and Gavin, and our Rhodesian Ridgeback are looking forward to relocating to Kershaw County.

“I am so excited to be joining the Doby’s Mill Elementary Family. I am committed to working closely with the DMES family to help our students achieve their full potential next year and in the years to come.”
