Mrs. Sherrill Creel

Kershaw County School Board selected Windsor Elementary Assistant Principal Sherrill Creel to be the new principal for Blaney Elementary.

“Ms. Creel has a good handle on all the pieces of an elementary school curriculum and understands how to use data at an expert level,” said Kershaw County School District (KCSD) Superintendent Frank Morgan. “She understands how to balance the need to sustain a warm and family-like school atmosphere with the need to make the kind of tough decisions required of a principal.”

Creel has been the assistant principal of Windsor Elementary in Richland School District 2 since 2011.  Prior to that, she served in a similar role at Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary School for three years. She began her teaching career at North Springs Elementary where she was selected as the school’s teacher of the year.

She has experience implementing a character education program, serving as a lead teacher for summer school, leading the implementation of teacher and student data notebooks and coordinating the alignment of the International Baccalaureate Programme with district standards.

Creel has a master of educational leadership degree from Capella University and a bachelor of science degree from Francis Marion University.

Mrs. Krissi Butler

Hello Blaney Elementary Families!  I am Krissi Butler, the Assistant Principal of Blaney Elementary School.  The upcoming 2018-2019 school year marks the beginning of my 22nd year in education.  I began my career in 1997 at Bates Middle School in Sumter.  Two years later I moved to Kingsbury Elementary School to teach Four-Year-Old Kindergarten.  This is where I discovered that the elementary school setting is where my heart is.   In 2004, I moved to Kershaw County and served Wateree Elementary School as a teacher in both Kindergarten and 1st grades.  In 2015, I was honored to be selected as the assistant principal at Blaney Elementary.  I have been blessed to be a part of the Kershaw County School District for the past 15 years!

I was born and raised in New Castle, Pennsylvania and graduated from Laurel High School.  I have dual Bachelors of Science degrees in both Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania.  I later obtained my MAED in School Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix.  I am married to Brett who works for Coca Cola Bottling Consolidated Company. We have two children. Savannah who attends Central Carolina Technical College.   Our son, Logan, is a junior at Lugoff-Elgin High School.

We are very active with keeping up with the schedules of our two children.  In addition, we are huge Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fans.

If you are new to the area, I want to welcome you to Blaney Elementary!  Home of the Wildcats!
