Hi! I am the new multi-categorical self-contained teacher for grades 1-3 at North Central Elementary.  I graduated from the University of the Cumberland’s in Kentucky with a B.A. in Special Education and Early Elementary Education.  I have a M.A. in Elementary Education.  I was an active-duty military spouse for 30 years and have had the opportunity to teach all over the world, including Alaska, Hawaii, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, and South Korea.  I have 20 years’ experience in Special Education, working with children from preschool through 6^th grade.  This is my first year teaching in Kershaw County and I’m very excited to be here!

When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, who I missed very much when we lived abroad. I have two grown children. My daughter, Mary, is a 3^rd grade teacher at Pine Tree Elementary here in Kershaw County.  My son, Ryan, lives with his family in Columbia with my one and only grandson, Luca, who will turn one in August! I’m so happy that we will all live close enough to celebrate this event together!  I also enjoy reading, hiking, yoga, and still love to travel.
