Hello! My name is Bessie Walter, and I will be your child’s special education teacher. I moved from Apple Valley, CA, but now live in Hopkins, SC. I married my college sweetheart, John, in a small ceremony on Malibu Beach in 2006. We have two fur babies, a Pomeranian named Teddy, and a cat named Sandy (aka Tom and Jerry).
I have served in the field of special education for five years. From 2017 to 2019, I served as a (Pre-K – 12th grade),
special education teachers assistant at both Apple Valley and Hesperia Unified School Districts in California. I worked as a K- 5 special education resource teacher from 2019 – 2020 at Black Mountain Elementary School in Golden Valley, AZ. During this time, I completed my Master’s Degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Most recently, I worked in Richland School District One as a K – 5 self-contained and virtual resource teacher.
I am excited and thankful to serve as a teacher at Lugoff Elementary School, and look forward to working with the students, parents, and the wonderful school staff.
