A Message From Our Director
Dear KCSD families,
I hope you had a good Spring Break. As we come to the end of this school year, we wanted to share information about plans for the 2022-23 school year.
Remote learning will be offered through a KCSD Virtual Academy. This will be an independent program with its own director and staff.
Applications for the virtual academy are available now through May 1st at https://bit.ly/2223Application. On this website, you will find specific information about the virtual academy, but here are some of the highlights:
Enrollment will be by application and capped at 40 in grades 6th-8th and 50 in grades 9th-12th grades (per grade level).
There is a rubric to determine enrollment. Among the criteria is success in the current virtual environment and good attendance.
The vast majority of the classes will be taught synchronously. There may be some classes at the middle and high school level which are taught asynchronously.
Students in the virtual academy can participate in extracurricular activities at their home schools.
