Greetings!

I am so excited to be joining LEMS as a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math teacher for students with exceptionalities. This is my second time working in a middle school here in South Carolina.  I have spent the last six years at Camden Elementary teaching 5th grade.  Before that, I was at Dent Middle school in Columbia.  I also taught 11 years in Prince Georges County, Maryland.  I am working towards my Masters in Special Education and hope to be finished in April, 2022.  

When I am not teaching, I am usually driving my son to some sort of sporting activity.  He is an avid swimmer.  He swims for the YMCA in Columbia.  In the spring, he also likes to play baseball.  I enjoy playing golf, watching Jordan play sports, and traveling.  I spent most of my summer in Northern Michigan.  The farthest I have traveled is Okinawa, Japan.  I hope to visit Germany soon also.  We had two foreign exchange students live with us when I was in high school.  We are still in contact today.  One lives in Japan and the other in Germany. 

I cannot wait to meet my students and share my love of learning with them.  I am very hands on.  We will use anything to grasp the different math concepts we will be working on throughout the year.  Please don't hesitate to call me if you have any questions or concerns.  Let's have a great 2021-2022 school year.
