Welcome to Mr. Benge's Social Studies class! I am excited to be in my 10th year teaching and 6th year as an 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher in Kershaw County. In addition to my teaching duties at LEMS, I am also an assistant football coach.

 

I graduated from North Lincoln High School in Denver, North Carolina, and attended college at UNC Charlotte where I majored in History and minored in Secondary Education (Bachelor of Arts/History). I am certified to teach Social Studies, Grades 6-12. Prior to teaching at LEMS, I taught and coached football at Stover Middle, East Gaston High School and North Lincoln High School. I am married to my lovely wife Ashley, who also teaches in Kershaw County. We have a 1 year old daughter, Pressley and our dog Jett. 

I am very enthusiastic and energetic. I appreciate the same enthusiasm and energy from my students. I believe that all students can learn, and expect my students to do their best. In addition to teaching and coaching, I am an avid hunter and fisherman. I compete in many local and regional bass fishing tournaments. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me.
