Hello Bullpup Families! I am thrilled to be a first grade teacher at this amazing school for the school year of 2022-2023! I look forward to teaching my first graders how to transition from sounding out easy words and reading pictures to truly reading a book by decoding harder words. My favorite part about teaching reading is to teach the students to LOVE to read! I can't wait to share with them all the amazing genres of books they can read each day. I will also be teaching them how to work with larger and more complex problems in math. Oh, the fun we will have learning about science and social studies is also something to look forward to!
I was born and raised in Illinois. I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Cross-Categorical from Southeast Missouri State University and a Masters Degree in Special Education from Western Governor's University. This will be my 14th year in the field of education. I have taught in five states across the country and taught in many different positions. I have held the positions of teaching first, second, kindergarten, third, and fourth grade. I have also been a special education teacher and an Autism and Behavior Consultant for a school district.
I am married to a member of the U.S. Army and we have four girls. All of which, have or, are currently attending Pine Tree Hill with me!
I am so excited to see what this year has in store for us!
