Meet Ms. Bigony!
Christi Bigony has been teaching at Doby's Mill since 2016. Before going into teaching, Ms. Bigony had gone to the University of South Carolina and got a degree in Hospitality Management. This led her to working at Riverbanks Zoo for approximately 5 years as the location's Concessions Manager. Although she loved her time at the zoo (and even got to do a few cool things, like brush a hyena and see a gorilla up-close), she always wished she had gone into education to be able to work with children. This led to a career change, and she went back to Carolina for her education degree. Since then, she has also finished her Masters of Education in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University.
Ms. Bigony was born and raised around here, and graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School. She now lives in Elgin with her daughter, Adeline, and their Chinese Crested Dog, Jango. They love geocaching, games, and crafts of all types. They spend a lot of time eating Chick-Fil-A, too!
Ms. Bigony has throroughly enjoyed her experience as a virtual teacher. She loves technology and spends a lot of time digitally drawing, so she was ready for virtual learning! She believes in meeting children where they are, and recognizing that each child is unique and has their own amazing personalities and interests. She loves teaching and loves meeting her students and their families.
