First Sergeant Smith has been an Army Instructor 11 years. Upon completion of high school and attending Howard University he entered the United States Army. He attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia (Honor Graduate). Throughout his tour in the Army, he has attended several military schools and completed numerous assignments and tours. He is a member of both the prestigious Audie Murphy Club and Sergeant Morales Club.
First Sergeant Smith is originally from Baltimore, Maryland where he lived in various places for over 18 years. He retired from the Army in South Carolina in Aug 2010. As an active Pastor with his church group, he spends a lot of time providing guidance for the younger leaders and adults. First Sergeant Smith loves to develop young adults in leadership, self-reliance, responsiveness to authority, physical fitness, and attributes related to good citizenship and patriotism. First Sergeant Smith is a dynamic JROTC Instructor who is organized, driven and effective at using efficient methods of teaching Cadets while focusing on the individual needs of each participant. First sergeant Smith is trained in motivational speaking which provides comprehensive professional development programs for all JROTC Cadets & programs.
