  • Grading: When and how will report cards be issued?

    Posted by:

Parents and students can always access their students' grades at https://kcsd.powerschool.com.  All students have portal accounts that show exactly the same information as parent accounts.  We encourage parents who do not have a portal account to have your student login and you can discuss their grades with them. Students can contact teachers or email the KCSD PowerSchool Administrator to get help with passwords.

Parents who have never used the portal and now want their log in information should email the KCSD PowerSchool Administrator for more information.

  • Schedule: Are students going to have to make up days at the end of the school year?

    Posted by:

eLearning counts as both a work and instructional day.  State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman has made the request to "waive" days if necessary.

  • Schedule: How long will eLearning continue?

    Posted by:

We will have eLearning for the week of March 16. The week of March 23 will be a week of teacher planning with no student instructional requirements. This will allow teachers to have Internet access, instructional support and the planning time that it takes to keep eLearning going over an extended period of time. We will likely continue this pattern going forward as long as needed.

  • Schedule: When will K-5 registration be now that the schools are closed on March 25th?

    Posted by:

We have postponed Kindergarten Round-Up that was originally scheduled for March 25 and will also be canceling the 5K screening appointments that were previously made.  Online registration can be completed at www.kcsdschools.net/roundup. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

  • Schedule: Why are there so many waive weeks listed in the upcoming schedule?

    Posted by:

The waive weeks allow time for teacher planning and for students to make up work from the previous week. (The name comes from the fact that the SC Department of Education [SCDE] is "waiving" seat time requirements during this pandemic.) As long as students are successfully completing the work assigned by their teachers, there should be no impact on their progression to the next grade level.

SCDE will be issuing further guidance on instructional requirements during this time in the near future. Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented period.

In terms of our schedule, Gov. McMaster has canceled classes through April 30. Our Spring Break will continue to be April 6-10. We will receive more guidance on our schedule as time goes along and more information is available.
