I grew up in Winnsboro, SC, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Clemson University.  My graduate work has also been at Clemson in Educational Administration, and I have earned endorsements in Gifted and Talented Education and Read to Succeed from Coastal Carolina, University of Phoenix, and College of Charleston.  I have a passion for teaching middle schoolers a love of reading.  It's all about finding the type of reading you like to do.  A love of reading and learning soon follows.  

My husband, Dwight, and I live in Camden with our daughter, Lexi (8), a third grader at Pine Tree Hill.  We also have three children who have left the nest.  Jake and his wife, Alissa, live in James Island; and Josh and his wife, Leigha, live in Seneca; and Toni and her husband, John, live here in Camden.  We enjoy spending time with our two furbabies - a 5-year old German shepherd named Beasley, and a 3-year old Australian shepherd named Liam.  We enjoy camping with our pups and going to Clemson for football games when we can.  

This is my ninth year teaching ELA and my fourth at Camden Middle School.  Go, Eagles!
