Hello Wateree Friends!!

     My name is Christy Allen, and I will be your child’s teacher this year.  I am so excited about getting to know you and about working with you and child.  Welcome to a new school year at Wateree Elementary, where we are "HAPPY! (Have A Positive Productive Year)

     I’d like to tell you a little about myself.   I was born and raised in Lugoff and attended Wateree when it was a middle school and graduated from LEHS in 1992.  I graduated from the University of Phoenix and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  I have enjoyed working for Kershaw County School District for the past 16 years.  During those years, I’ve worked in kindergarten, the computer lab, second grade and in 5th for the past four years.  I’ve been married for 28 years to my wonderful husband, Marvin, and have two boys, Josh, 23, and Dillon, who is 22.  I am a Zumba instructor and teach classes at the Fitness Zone in Lugoff and work part time with Abverdeen Catering in Camden.     

     Throughout my teaching experiences, I have become committed to the importance of parents’ involvement in their child’s education.  I firmly believe that your child receives the best education possible when you and I work as a team.  I will be keeping in touch with you about how your child is progressing in school.      To help your child prepare for class, on the Class Information page, is the supply list you can follow as you shop for school supplies.  This list is slightly different from the “district” list to ensure that your child has exactly what he/she needs.
