Karean Troy will serve as the district’s new Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator where she will manage the coordination of minority inclusion in schools and promote diversity-oriented events and cross-cultural activities.
Before becoming a guidance counselor at Fairfield Elementary in 2014, Troy was the academic advisor for Provost Academy and served as a guidance counselor for two high schools in Michigan.
She is a Patient Administration Officer in the US Army Reserve’s National Disaster Medical System at Fort Jackson’s Federal Coordinating Center. In this role, she tracks patient movement and accountability and serves as a liaison between federal, state and local agencies and participating hospitals.
Ms. Troy received a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Community Agency Personnel and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interpersonal and Public Communication from Central Michigan University.
