Mrs. Merriman Nichols

Mrs. Nichols is the Director of Intervention and Enrichment for Kershaw County Schools.

Mrs. Nichols will oversee several instructional areas for KCSD.  Those areas include working with the District MTSS/RTI plan, Universal Screening as laid out by ACT 213, Gifted Curriculum/SEAGUL, performance task testing for SEAGUL, primary contact for elementary curriculum for special education, extended school year for students with disabilities, advanced placement, Title I family and community engagement and foreign language.  

Mrs. Nichols worked at the SCDE previously before coming to KCSD.  During that time Mrs. Nichols planned and executed a statewide framework for MTSS.  Mrs. Nichols served as a Title I elementary principal, middle and elementary assistant principal, and instructional coach.

She has received training through the Principals as Executive Program in school administrators as instructional leaders and was chosen to participate in the Distinguished Leaders Program.

Nichols graduated as a teaching fellow from the Honors College at Western Carolina University and earned a Master of School Administration degree from Gardner Webb University.

Mrs. Nichols lives with her husband and two girls who attend Kershaw County Schools.
