Mrs. Markeita Warren Barber

Hello Bullpup Families! I am honored to serve as your Principal! As we enter year two of our journey together, I am excited to embrace our 22-23 school year's theme of "We are ONE family with many stories". We will unfold the chapters of this story throughout the year with a focus on Academic Achievement, Student Leadership, Family & Community Engagement, and School Morale. I am eager to serve your families as well as enrich the lives of the students in a community I call "home".

Born and raised in Camden, S.C, I am a proud graduate of Camden High School. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Education from College of Charleston, a Masters Degree in Instructional Accommodations from Francis Marion University, and a Masters Degree in Education and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University.  This is my 15th year in the field of education with varied experiences in the elementary classroom, including teaching kindergarten through third grades, and seven years of school leadership experience serving in both the assistant principal and principal roles in Lexington-Richland School District Five & here in Kershaw County.

I am married to a fellow educator and we are the proud parents of four beautiful children: Ava, Torri Jr., Lucas (soon to come) and Kenzley.

I am proud to be a BULLPUP and can't wait to see each of you on August 1st as we kick off the 22-23 school year!

Mr. Cody Strong

My name is Cody Strong and I am thrilled to be the Assistant Principal at Pine Tree Hill Elementary.  I am a proud product of the Kershaw County School District.  I graduated from Winthrop University in 2007 with a B.A. in History and then from Gardner-Webb University in 2015 with a M.Ed. in Executive Leadership.  I began my teaching career at Rock Hill High School where I taught Social Studies from 2008-2016.  I was also a baseball and swim teach coach while at Rock Hill High.  In 2016-2017, I was at Kelly Mill Middle School where I was also a Social Studies teacher and I was an Assistant Principal at Lugoff Elgin Middle School from 2017-2021.

I am married to an absolutely wonderful woman who is also a Kershaw County graduate and we have two sons, Jake (10) and Grayson (7).  I am a huge Clemson fan and my personal interests include woodworking, hunting/fishing, and spending time with my family.  It is a dream come true to be able to be back in Kershaw County and I am looking forward to working with the students, faculty, and community here.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Thanks and let's have a great year!
