Mrs. Markeita Warren Barber

Born and raised in Camden, S.C, I am a proud graduate of Camden High School (CHS). After graduating from CHS, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Education from College of Charleston, a Masters Degree in Instructional Accommodations from Francis Marion University, and a Masters Degree in Education and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University.  This is my 14th year in the field of education. My career experiences include teaching kindergarten through third grades, being an Administrative Assistant Principal, and an Assistant Principal in Kershaw, Lee and Richland-Lexington Counties. I returned to Kershaw County in 2019 as the Principal of Bethune Elementary School. I am humbled and honored to join and serve the faculty, staff and families of Pine Tree Hill Elementary School. I look forward to continuing and contributing to the academic success of this great school while building positive relationships and nurturing a positive learning environment. I blessed to enrich the lives of students in a place I call home!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my amazing family. I am married to Torri Barber and we have three amazing children, Kenzley, Ava and Torri Jr.

I am proud to be a Bullpup!

Mr. Cody Strong

My name is Cody Strong and I am thrilled to be the Assistant Principal at Pine Tree Hill Elementary.  I am a proud product of the Kershaw County School District.  I graduated from Winthrop University in 2007 with a B.A. in History and then from Gardner-Webb University in 2015 with a M.Ed. in Executive Leadership.  I began my teaching career at Rock Hill High School where I taught Social Studies from 2008-2016.  I was also a baseball and swim teach coach while at Rock Hill High.  In 2016-2017, I was at Kelly Mill Middle School where I was also a Social Studies teacher and I was an Assistant Principal at Lugoff Elgin Middle School from 2017-2021.

I am married to an absolutely wonderful woman who is also a Kershaw County graduate and we have two sons, Jake (8) and Grayson (6).  I am a huge Clemson fan and my personal interests include woodworking, hunting/fishing, and spending time with my family.  It is a dream come true to be able to be back in Kershaw County and I am looking forward to working with the students, faculty, and community here.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Thanks and let's have a great year!
