Hey everyone! My name is Courtney Trapp and I am so excited about being your child's fourth grade teacher! I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Before attending college, I attended Kershaw County Schools and actually went to school at Wateree Elementary! I love having the opportunity to return and teach at Wateree and work along side all of the amazing faculty and staff.
On a more personal level, I am married to Mack Trapp and we currently live in Camden with our son, Maverick. In our free time, we enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as camping and exploring new places.
Education has always been an extremely important aspect in my life and I look forward to sharing this passion with your child. As an educator, I strive to show children the importance of education and how crucial it is to be successful in the real world. I plan to do this in a fun and engaging way which will result in a positive environment and an overall love for learning. I also believe that in order to be successful, respect must be present in the classroom. This stems directly from building relationships and encouraging open communication within the classroom. In order to build a classroom community, I will constantly encourage the children to properly communicate with one another in a positive and respectful way. This goes for myself and for parents as well. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via phone or email and I will be happy to converse with you or schedule a meeting.
Thank you so much for sharing your child with me. I can't wait to see where this journey takes us and I look forward to watching your child grow not only as a learner but as an individual as well! This is going to be a FANTASTIC year!
