Mrs. Sherrill Creel
Kershaw County School Board selected Windsor Elementary Assistant Principal Sherrill Creel to be the new principal for Blaney Elementary.
“Ms. Creel has a good handle on all the pieces of an elementary school curriculum and understands how to use data at an expert level,” said Kershaw County School District (KCSD) Superintendent Frank Morgan. “She understands how to balance the need to sustain a warm and family-like school atmosphere with the need to make the kind of tough decisions required of a principal.”
Creel has been the assistant principal of Windsor Elementary in Richland School District 2 since 2011. Prior to that, she served in a similar role at Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary School for three years. She began her teaching career at North Springs Elementary where she was selected as the school’s teacher of the year.
She has experience implementing a character education program, serving as a lead teacher for summer school, leading the implementation of teacher and student data notebooks and coordinating the alignment of the International Baccalaureate Programme with district standards.
Creel has a master of educational leadership degree from Capella University and a bachelor of science degree from Francis Marion University.
