Attendance is so important!
Your Child's Attendance
Your child’s attendance is very important to his/her academic success. They need to be at school every day.
In the event that your child is absent, YOU MUST do the following.
- Provide a doctor’s excuse or a signed parent note explaining your child’s absence. (Failure to provide a proper excuse could result in your child being placed on a Truancy Intervention Plan or being referred to court.)
You will receive an automated call from the school letting you know that your child was absent that day.
Tardies (Late for school)
Your child should be in their Homeroom Class no later than 7:50am or the child will be considered tardy. If the child is late due to a doctor’s appointment, please provide a doctor’s excuse when the child arrives at school.
- If your child accumulates 3 unexcused tardies he/she may be subject to disciplinary action.
If your child reports to school after 9am you will receive the automated call saying that your child was absent. Although you receive the call, the correct attendance code will have been entered when your child signed-in at school.
Early dismissals interrupt the instructional day for your child, the teacher and other students in the classroom. Please do your best to plan routine health and dental check-ups for after school hours. Excessive early dismissals will be addressed with parents or guardians and may result in disciplinary action
If you have any attendance questions please call Mr. Smith at (803) 424-2740.
