Mrs. Proctor

I am a proud graduate of Kershaw County and am thrilled to be teaching in my home community. After graduating from Presbyterian College, I joined the English Department at LEHS in January 2003. During my first time at LE, I advised the newspaper staff for 5 years and the yearbook staff for 9 years while teaching English IV and Journalism 1. In 2016, I returned to LE to teach Journalism 1 and advise the award-winning yearbook staff after working in the Convergence Media magnet program in Richland Two for four years. Two of my students have been named South Carolina Student Journalist of the Year, and several others have received scholarships for their work in high school journalism. I have served on the Executive Committee for the Southern Interscholastic Press Association in addition to serving as a judge for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association and a new advisers coach for Walsworth Publishing Company.

When I am not teaching or editing yearbook pages, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children, who are also in Kershaw County schools.

Journalism 1 Week at a Glance - This document allows students and families to see lesson plans, access materials, and check classwork & homework assignments for each week. For makeup work from previous weeks, students and families should access unit plans and modules through Canvas.

Yearbook Production Week at a Glance - This document allows students and families to see our daily agenda, daily to do lists, and weekly events. Since yearbook deadlines make our situation unique for makeup assignments, students and families should email the teacher when students cannot complete their original assignments by the scheduled due date.
