Welcome to 3rd Grade!

My name is Nicci Marken and I am excited to be teaching third grade at Wateree Elementary this year. This will be my 7th year at Wateree and my fourteenth year teaching. Prior to joining the Wateree team, I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Science (2003) from the University of New Mexico. I then taught kindergarten and fifth grades in a small town in Missouri for a couple of years. Next, I moved to Columbia, SC to teach third and fourth grades at Windsor Elementary in an integrated technology classroom. Finally, I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology with a certificate in Online Teaching and Learning from Webster University (2015) while being a stay-at-home-mom. 

When I am not teaching, I am busy being a wife to Mr. Marken and a mom to two daughters, Sierra and Rylie.  In our free time we love to watch movies, play board games, read, try new recipes, and explore the world around us. With this crew, life is always active and full of new experiences.
