I am retired from the Army serving 22 years in various command and staff positions, and a third generation Veteran. My Grandfather served in the Army at a young age in WWI and my Father served in the US Air Force during Korea and Vietnam. I am a Veteran of OPERATIONS DESERT STORM and ENDURING FREEDOM serving in Afghanistan.
I enjoy watching our cadets grow mentally, spiritually and physically as they move from 9th grade to 12 grade. These cadets perform extraordinary tasks each day allowing them to personally grow individually and as Cadet Leaders. Watching this process is so rewarding. I am starting my eleventh year teaching Army JROTC and I Coach the Army JROTC Academic and Leadership Bowl (JLAB) Teams and the Air Rifle Competition Team. I am certified by the Civilian Marksmanship Program to Coach Air Rifle and received the German Silver Schutzensnuhr Marksmanship Badge. I am the recipient of the US Cavalry and Armor Association Order of Saint George Medallion and the Republic of Germany International Security Assistance Force Medal for my work with the German Army forces in Afghanistan. I am blessed to be married to my wife Lisa, and we have three adult children.
I also enjoy spending time with my family and love to watch all sports, especially Atlanta Braves baseball, Clemson football and the Washington Redskins football. My favorite hobbies are surf fishing, beachcombing and spending time with my family and dogs!!
