Mr. Thomas Gladden

Tommy Gladden is beginning his thirteenth year in Kershaw County and his thirty-nineth year in education. Before taking over the leadership of the Continuous Learning Center, Mr. Gladden was the principal of Lugoff-Elgin High School for eight years.  He also assisted with the opening of Blythewood High School in 2004-2005 and worked as an administrator for two years at Ridge View High School in Richland County School District Two.  Prior to his work in high school administration his varied work experience included working with Clemson University as the State Leader for Agriculture Education, with the State Department of Education, and teaching Agriculture in several schools in South Carolina.  He holds degrees from Clemson University and the University of South Carolina.  

In his current position as Director of the CLC, Mr. Gladden greets every student daily with the phrase, “Thank you for being here.”  He believes in positively meeting the students where they are in their educational journey. Once assessed, the CLC team, composed of the student, parents, teachers, and administrators, work together to help each child reach their educational goals.  

He is a native of Winnsboro and currently lives in Camden.
