Miss Lauren Brown Mims

Dear families,

Welcome to 4K at Blaney Elementary School, home of the wildcats! My name is Mrs. Lauren Mims, formally known as Ms. Brown and I’m excited to be your child’s teacher this year. This is my 7th year teaching! I taught first grade for four years. This is my third year teaching 4K. I am a product of Kershaw County, and I am blessed to be able to come back and teach in the district that taught me so much. I graduated from Lugoff Elgin High school in 2009. I pursued my dreams at Winthrop University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education.

In the Fall of 2013, I became the reading tutor for Kindergarten through Second Grade at Wateree Elementary School. In this position, I was able to work with many students to help them become better readers and it amazed me to see their tremendous growth. I loved seeing the excitement on their faces when they discovered something new or grasped a new concept.

I have always known I wanted to be a teacher to help make a difference in the lives of children. I am beyond blessed and excited to be working with you and your child this year. I look forward to a great year as we all work to begin the adventure of learning at BES, Our motto this year is One Team, One Dream! I cannot wait to see the progress each and every student will make this year!

Favorites are all things Lilly Pultizer, Carolina Gamecocks, and monogrammed!
