Mr. Shane Bagwell

The Kershaw County School Board Tuesday named Shane Bagwell as the new principal of Wateree Elementary School to replace Charles King who is retiring. A Lugoff resident, Bagwell served as a first grade teacher at Camden Elementary School for eight years.

"We conducted a detailed process and had many good applicants for this position," said Kershaw County School District Superintendent Shane Robbins. "We're pleased to welcome Mr. Bagwell back home. I think students, staff, families and the community will all enjoy his high energy and excitement for learning."

Bagwell has spent the past seven years as an assistant principal in Richland School District Two, serving in that role at Lake Carolina Lower Elementary School before moving to Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary School for the 2020-2021 school year. Bagwell also taught in Lexington Two.

"I have called Kershaw County home for the past 17 years, and I am excited to come back and serve Wateree Elementary School and Kershaw County School District," Bagwell said. "I am so humbled and blessed to become a part of the Cardinal family. This is an amazing school with a wonderful community, and I cannot wait to get to work building relationships and contributing to the continued academic success at Wateree Elementary School."

An Ohio Native, Bagwell received a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toledo and Master of Education degrees from Columbia College and Purdue University.

Welcome to Wateree Elementary School!  I am proud to be a part of this amazing school!  I am entering my twenty-fourth year in education.  I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from UNC-Charlotte.  After graduation, I began teaching Kindergarten.  I later completed my Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University.  I absolutely LOVE my job!  It is a joy to come to school and work with outstanding teachers and students!  My husband and I have two children who are very involved in their school and sports.  In our spare time, you will find us on the ball field or on the lake!  Please feel free to contact me at 438-8018 or email me at lindsay.christofaro@kcsdschools.net with any questions or concerns.  Thank you for visiting our site!

Miss Amy Jordan

Born and raised in Elgin, SC I am a graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School.  After graduating high school, I attended the University of South Carolina - Columbia where I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Elementary Education.  I went on to earn my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina - Columbia (USC). After graduating from USC, I began my teaching career at Wateree Elementary School. I taught at Wateree Elementary School for several years before moving to Jackson Elementary School. While teaching at Jackson Elementary, I earned my Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina - Columbia. I have served as the Assistant Principal at Pine Tree Hill Elementary School and Blaney Elementary School.  In the summer of 2020, I joined the administrative team at Wateree Elementary School.  I am excited to be a member of the Wateree family once again! This will be my 15th year in education (all in Kershaw County School District).  My career experience includes teaching both 3rd grades and 5th grades, being an Administrative Assistant, and an Assistant Principal. My favorite subject areas are Math and Science. 

 I love to spend time with my family, which includes my two fur babies, Maddie and Dusty Rose. My favorite sport to watch is football and as you can probably tell from the place I earned my college degrees I am a Gamecock fan!  I look forward to working with students and staff at Wateree Elementary School!
